Ed is a Chartered Structural Engineer and Director of Batchelar McDougall Consulting. With 15 years of structural engineering experience in New Zealand and the UK, he has extensive expertise in structural design and assessment across a wide range of sectors, including residential, commercial and heritage buildings.
Seismic assessment has formed a large part of Ed’s workload over the past 10 years, and he has undertaken complex investigations of earthquake-damaged buildings for the EQC, insurers and individual property owners. This work has included providing structural assessment advice to the High Court as an expert witness.
