Charlotte Fleetwood-Smith is a consumer law, privacy and intellectual property specialist within Russell McVeagh's litigation team. She regularly advises significant clients, particularly in the telecommunications, energy and financial services sectors, on their obligations under the Fair Trading Act and Advertising Standards Codes. Recent work includes acting for clients in relation to Commerce Commission complaints about potential Fair Trading Act breaches and unfair contract terms, advising on a series of potential misleading and deceptive Fair Trading Act breaches and notification to New Zealand regulators and extensive advisory work on advertising compliance. Charlotte has also regularly helped businesses navigate making and defending Advertising Standards Authority complaints.
