The building and construction industry is a key contributor to New Zealand’s economic progress. The supply chain for building products has traditionally been dominated by a few major companies but increasingly alternative building products and methods are being used to try and reduce cost and improve the efficiency of the industry. This paper examines the latest legal changes and regulatory reforms for building product suppliers, including the outcomes of the recent market study by the Commerce Commission.
Commercial solicitors of all levels who advise clients in the building and construction industry, in-house counsel in building, construction, infrastructure companies, lawyers and directors with an interest in the building sector regulatory system or competition law.
