This On Demand was originally recorded on 14 August 2024.
It is critical to review clients’ trust structures on a regular basis to ensure they remain fit for purpose in the light of the client’s current circumstances and changes in the law (including tax law). Key considerations in determining whether a trust is still the best fit for a specific client include the client’s circumstances, the client’s relationships and the client’s risk profile.
This On Demand will examine when a trust will continue to be the best fit for a client, when existing trusts should be restructured, and the tax implications of transferring assets (especially property) to and from trusts, and varying, resettling and winding up trusts.
Those practising in the areas of wills, estates, trusts, and private client work as well as general practitioners and legal executives.
